Ministry Shift Manager – Zera Coffee and Events

Location: Zera Coffee and Events/ Denton Freedom House, Denton TX

Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time 

Job Summary: The Ministry Shift Manager serves as both an operational leader and a spiritual leader within Zera Coffee and Events. This role oversees daily operations while providing spiritual support, encouragement, and ministry to staff, volunteers, and customers consistent with the Christian mission of the organization. This position is classified as a ministerial role and exists primarily to advance the religious mission of the organization through leadership, mentorship, prayer, and service.


Key Responsibilities:


Spiritual Leadership & Ministry

  • Provide spiritual guidance, prayer, and encouragement to staff and customers.
  • Model Christian character and values in all interactions.
  • Lead or participate in devotionals, mentoring, and faith-based discussions.
  • Foster a Christ-centered environment consistent with the mission of the organization

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure quality service and products.

Leadership & Team Development

Women’s Home Officer on Deck (OOD)

Location: Denton Freedom House, Denton, TX 

Job Type: Full-Time 

Reports To:  Women’s Home Director 

Job Summary: An OOD is responsible for day-to-day shepherding of residents through the program at Denton Freedom House Women’s Home. The OOD will ensure that residents receive comprehensive support, guidance, and care during their initial phase of discipleship and transition. This role requires a hands-on approach to program implementation, resident supervision, and collaboration with staff and community partners. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Program Implementation: 
  • Implement and execute Phase 1 program policies, procedures, and guidelines. 
  • Oversee daily operations of the Phase 1 program, ensuring a safe and structured environment for residents. 
  • Coordinate with Phase 1 director for the successful program admission and orientation processes of new residents.  
  1. Resident Support: 
  • Provide individual and group support to Phase 1 residents, addressing their emotional, physical, medical and most importantly spiritual needs. 
  • Monitor and provide guidance on individualized journals and SPECS for each resident, focusing on personal growth and development. 
  • Shepherd residents through the program, ensuring they stay on track with their goals and objectives. 
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and crisis intervention as needed. 
  1. Staff Support: 
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and seek ongoing support and professional development opportunities. 
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. 
  1. Community Outreach: 
  • Advocate for the needs and rights of Phase 1 residents within the community. 
  1. Administrative Duties: 
  • Prepare and submit required reports.

Men’s Home Officer on Deck (OOD)

Job Type: Full-Time 

Reports To:  Program Director

Kitchen Staff Cook 

Location: Denton Freedom House, Aubrey, TX 

Job Type: Full-Time 

Job Summary: 

Working in ministry is not limited to teaching, preaching and evangelizing. There are positions that utilize the Holy Spirit’s gift of Service. The position of Kitchen Staff Cook supports the daily operations of the kitchen by preparing and serving nutritious meals for residents and staff. This role works under the supervision of the Kitchen Manager and directly with residents teaching, supervising and ministering which contributes to a clean, safe, and spiritually uplifting kitchen environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Meal Preparation: 

  • Prepare meals according to the weekly menu and dietary guidelines. 
  • Assist with special meals for events and programs as needed. 

Kitchen Operations: 

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food prep areas. 
  • Ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices are followed. 
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies. 

Team Support: 

  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, residents, and volunteers. 
  • Participate in kitchen team devotions and spiritual encouragement. 
  • Follow directions from the Kitchen Manager and contribute to a positive work environment. 

Safety & Compliance: 

  • Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to the Kitchen Manager. 
  • Follow all health and safety regulations. 

Record Keeping: 

  • Assist with tracking meal counts and inventory as directed. 

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to participate in spiritual growth and discipleship activities. 
  • Experience in food preparation or kitchen work is preferred.
