Job Title: Kitchen Staff Cook
Location: Denton Freedom House, Aubrey, TX
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
Working in ministry is not limited to teaching, preaching and evangelizing. There are positions that utilize the Holy Spirit’s gift of Service. The position of Kitchen Staff Cook supports the daily operations of the kitchen by preparing and serving nutritious meals for residents and staff. This role works under the supervision of the Kitchen Manager and directly with residents teaching, supervising and ministering which contributes to a clean, safe, and spiritually uplifting kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Meal Preparation:
- Prepare meals according to the weekly menu and dietary guidelines.
- Assist with special meals for events and programs as needed.
Kitchen Operations:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food prep areas.
- Ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices are followed.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies.
Team Support:
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, residents, and volunteers.
- Participate in kitchen team devotions and spiritual encouragement.
- Follow directions from the Kitchen Manager and contribute to a positive work environment.
Safety & Compliance:
- Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to the Kitchen Manager.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
Record Keeping:
- Assist with tracking meal counts and inventory as directed.

Facilities Technician – General Maintenance
Location: Men’s home, Aubrey TX
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
The General Maintenance Facilities Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repairs, and cleanliness of Denton Freedom House properties. This role focuses on routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position will require the ability to work independently as well as work alongside residents in a supervisory and ministerial manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine tasks such as repairs, painting, and carpentry.
- Assist mechanical team in basic plumbing, minor electrical work
- Address maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas and facilities.
- Oversee waste disposal and basic janitorial duties.
- Assist with setup and teardown for organizational events and programs.
- Track and restock maintenance supplies and tools.
- Report hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other staff and volunteers to support the mission of Denton Freedom House.
- Foster a supportive and faith-based work environment.
Additional Duties
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify issues or potential hazards.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or inspections when necessary.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Provide mentorship and hands-on training to residents participating in work programs.
- Support emergency response efforts, including storm preparation and post-event cleanup.
- Assist in maintaining landscaping and outdoor areas, including mowing, trimming, and minor irrigation repairs.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and contribute to planning facility improvements.

Coffee Shop Manager
Location: Zera Coffee and Events, Denton TX
Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Job Summary: The Manager at Zera Coffee and Events is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the coffee shop during their shift. This includes managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the shop. The ideal manager has strong leadership skills, a passion for coffee, and a commitment to providing great customer experience. Additionally, the Shift Manager embodies and promotes the values of our faith-based organization, providing spiritual support and ministering to both staff and customers.

- Perform opening and closing duties as required.
- Monitor and sign off on all shift checklists.
- Report directly and immediately to your director anything out of the ordinary including issues with staff/residents, injuries, equipment failures and needs.

The Community Engagement Representative serves as a frontline ambassador for Denton Freedom House, building bridges between the ministry and the surrounding community. This role is responsible for initiating and nurturing relationships with churches, businesses, volunteers, and local organizations to expand awareness, support, and involvement in the mission of restoring lives through Christ.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Denton Freedom House at church services, community events, and local gatherings.
- Build and maintain relationships with pastors, ministry leaders, business owners, and individual donors.
- Schedule and conduct outreach visits to share the mission and impact of DFH.
- Assist in recruiting and onboarding volunteers for programs, events, and service opportunities.
- Maintain regular communication with donors and supporters.
- Help organize volunteer appreciation efforts and engagement activities.
- Support planning and execution of fundraising and outreach events, including the annual gala.
